First match back after Christmas break, little rusty but very good rugby against a good opposition

Bulls
What a day at the Hitchin deep freeze. All the boys put a great shift in and really battled well against a very well drilled Hertford squad. Great Speed and skills from Rudy, outstanding tackling from Stan, top drawn rucking from Albie, silky distribution from Hugh, Fin running great lines that kept Hertford guessing, Arran putting in some barn storming runs, Howard running the opposition down and putting in try saving tackles, Sam popping up in attack and doing some great foot work and ball skills, George with huge carries into the heart of Hertford defence , Thomas mopping up the loose ball and stealing back possession, Zac with the trade mark super runs and side splitting tackles, Ronnie always working hard at the ruck and covering defence to keep Hertford a bay, finally Toren always on the go forward looking for the gap and putting hits on the largest players on the pitch. Overall man of match goes to Stan

Hogs
Brilliant rucking from our lot today, those drills are really coming out on the pitch which is very enjoyable to watch.
Great support running in later matches, especially from Jack, Kieran, Bobby, Eoin. This made at least 3 tries for us so something we're definitely getting better at.
Direct running really improved today, especially Griff
Every player really put a shift in but special mention to Jack who i don't think we see that often but played extremely well. Aggressive, great support, good tackling and scored a couple for us

Rhino's
Not the most elegant rugby but very much in the Hitchin style - masses of energy, some sparks of flowing rugby and elegant running and all working super hard to really test one of the historically strongest teams in the county. The last game was lost but the jubilation from the hertford guys at scraping a 1-try win showed how hard they'd been made to work thru the morning. Mentions to Luca, Josh and Tom for their physical presence on the pitch through all 3 games, Liam & Nathan popping up everywhere and doing the messy graft in the tight. Theo, Xander and Leo despite not having the size of the big guys none-the-less always taking the ball forward even into heavy traffic, Herbie & Dom who I think suprised themselves with a number of excellent long runs around and through contact, retaining the ball and Henry and Frank for keeping it all going forward when things slowed down. Final mention to Otis who must have had something in his half time drink becuase he was man-possessed for last game.

All coaches commented that hitchin would have done even better if they'd spent less time telling the referee about infringements and more time playing advantage that was coming. Things to learn. :)
